You already know Kloten? Sure, Kloten is the airport city. However, Kloten offers much more than its own airport: highway access, S-Bahn, SBB and bus station, attractive tax rates, modern business properties and uncomplicated relocation practices. Ideally located between the cities of Winterthur and Zurich, you will find modern business centers at the airport and in the city, office space, renowned training institutes and more. Kloten has over 38,000 employees - compared to a population of almost 21,000. Zurich main station can be reached in 15 minutes by public transport.

From 1946 to 1948  Flughafen Zürich-Kloten was built, which has since been expanded in several stages. Various companies and institutions are based at the airport, for example  Bundesamt für Meteorologie und Klimatologie, the airlines SWISS, Helvetic Airways and Edelweiss Air, the technical service company SR Technics, the catering company Gategroup Holding and the Schweizerische Rettungsflugwacht.

The Circle and extension of Balsberg

In 2020, the construction project  The Circle directly next to the airport was finished.

From the opening, it will be possible to hold congresses for up to 2,500 guests directly at Switzerland's largest national airport. Two hotels of the Hyatt hotel group, various brand worlds, an outpatient health center of the University Hospital Zurich, attractive office space as well as art, culture, gastronomy and education complete the wide range of offers at Zurich Airport. The Circle will thus become a cultural and economic enrichment beyond the airport region. The project was realized by a co-owners' association in which Flughafen Zürich AG holds a 51% stake and Swiss Life AG 49%.

The building complex Balsberg is an important service center for various companies.

The former Swissair headquarters was extended by three floors in 2019 and 2020. The owner Priora Suisse AG increased the floor space from 45,000 m² to 66,000 m² during ongoing operations. The building complex now offers 4,500 workstations (previously 2,500). According to Balsberg, this makes it the largest commercial building in Switzerland (as a single property). A remarkable uniqueness: only 50 percent of the building is located in the municipality of Kloten, the remaining part in the municipality of Opfikon. The municipal boundary therefore runs right through the building.
